Art has been the word chosen to define the capital city of UAE for the last 4 days. The annual Abu Dhabi Art taking place in Saadiyat Island, at Manarat al Saadiyat, has this year reached its sixth edition and has been displaying over 600 modern and contemporary artworks, belonging to artists from around the world.
The event that closed today at 10 pm was organized by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA) and the admission was free for all visitors, requiring only a registration. This year edition allowed the visitors to enjoy a multidisciplinary experience combining an art fair with a public programme which included art, talks, panels, workshops and many other interactive events.
Many renowned galleries and famous artists gathered in Abu Dhabi to delight the art lovers. Among those, The Acquavella Galleries from New York featured pieces by Pablo Picasso, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Edgar Degas, Camille Pissarro and Francis Bacon. As well, with less than a year before the opening of Louvre Abu Dhabi, ADA 2014 has invited the museum’s famous architect, Jean Nouvel, who was part of an art talk panel on the topic of ‘Museums as Sites for New Experiences’.
For those of you who didn’t attend the edition this year, this is what you have missed!
